This Artemis wedding in Singapore started at home, and that already set the tone.

Matt and Zoe’s day started at home, and that already set the tone.

They went with traditional Chinese outfits for the tea ceremony. Bright reds, detailed embroidery, the works. The house was lively, people chatting, laughing, moving in and out of rooms. It felt full.

Matt’s parents had flown in from the US, along with a few friends from overseas, all taking it in and experiencing the tradition alongside everyone else.

And then there was the food.

Not your typical setup. Yes, there were local snacks, the kind people recognise straight away. Ang ku kuehs in different colours, curry puffs, laid out on the table.

And right in the middle of it all, trays of freshly baked focaccia from a friend. Not the usual kind either. Green curry, lap cheong, flavours you don’t expect at all.

The evening was at Artemis Grill & Sky Bar.

The ceremony was held at the top of the building, a rooftop garden filled with greenery. Surrounded by the city, but it felt a little removed from it.

Dinner came together easily. Good food, good company, that kind of night.
